Based upon the recommendation of a friend who’s been to Africa multiple times, my two sons and I booked a plains game safari with Dirk de Bod in June 2026. It was without a doubt the hunt of a lifetime. The three of us were the only group in camp, which is their custom. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was excellent and the entire staff was outstanding. Dirk and his son Dirk Jr. were the best guides I’ve ever hunted with. Their ability to judge and measure animals was remarkable. The driving and stalking of the plains game was fun and challenging as they only allow trophy animals to be harvested. Anyone planning a trip to Africa, I would definitely recommend booking with Dirk de Bod – between the quality of the animals, the entire hunting experience, the staff, accommodations, and meals makes for a great experience and one that will go into the memory bank.
